African Weaver Bird Nest
Among the 350 species of birds observed right here at the Samburu National Reserve, one of the most industrious is the weaverbird. This species is so named for its intricately constructed nests which can be woven from twigs, grasses, and leaves. You can see the birds handiwork on this acacia tree, where nests hold like embellishes. Some weaverbirds construct intricate nests that residence hundreds of birds, with separate chambers for every pair, creating a natural rental complex within the treetops.
